    Thorictus iriae n. sp. is described from Montaña Clara (Lanzarote, Canary Islands). It is compared to other closely related species of the orientalis group, from which it is distinguished by de presence of long and decumbent hairs on the margins of pronotum and elytra. Some data on its habitat and biology are also provided
