After a careful examination of Siberian fauna of the family Dermestidae, a little known species of the
genus Dermestes L. (s. str.) was rediscovered in Altai mountains. This species originally described in the genus Montandonia Jacquet, 1886 was known only from its type collected in Altai. Later this species was
transferred to the genus Dermestes (Zhantiev, 1967). Dermestes roubali (Kalik, 1951) is closely related to D.
fuliginosus Rossi, 1792 and D. olivieri Lepesme, 1939 from Europe, and to D. depressus Gebler, 1830 from
Siberia. Similarly to these species, D. roubali apparently develops in bumblebee nidi.
As the original description of this interesting species is brief, a redescription is needed. Hereinafter, we
redescribe it in details and depict female genitalia of D. roubali.
