Summary: Critical corrections to Dalla Torre's 1911 catalogue of the family Dermestidae are provided. The new genus Anthrenocerus is described along with numerous new species in Attagenus, Trogoderma, Thaumaglossa, Orphinus, and Anthrenus [including Neoanthrenus species] from the British Museum collection. Key taxonomic revisions include the transfer of Old World Cryptorrhopalum species to Orphinus and the reclassification of the genus Psacus into Dermestidae.
