  • Abstract:
The photo tactic responses of adults of the confused flour beetle, Tribolium confusum Jacquelin duVal, and the red flour beetle, T. castaneum (Herbst), and larvae of the black carpet beetle, Attagenus megatoma (F.), to various flash rates of blue-white light were determined. Optimum attraction of confused flour beetles and red flour beetles was at 100-15,000 and 200-15,000 flashes per minute, respectively. Eighty percent or more of the black carpet beetle larvae were repelled at 600 or more flashes per minute.
