  • Abstract:
Determination of insects sometimes reveals surprising aspects of the animal world. Solitary bees of the genuses Colletes and Xylocopa building nests tor the deposition of their eggs pierced their way into plastered walls and ceilings of buildings. In succession Dermestid beetle larvae (Megatoma undata L.) found food and shelter in the bees' nests. Larvae of Dermestes haemorrhoidales Küster aften make holes in different materials in search of a suitable pupating harborage. This time some books were favoured.
